Tottenham could be set to move for Club America striker Christian Benitez, according to Mexican club's president.
The Ecuador international, who previously had a spell in England on loan at Birmingham City, has finished as top scorer in Liga MX for the past three seasons and is keen on a return to Europe.
Ricardo Pelaez has confirmed Club America will not begrudge the 27-year-old a move away from Mexico City should Tottenham
Tottenham are currently assessing their attacking options ahead of next season, with Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor the club's only recognised strikers.
"There could be a good offer for Christian from Tottenham," Pelaez is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"I've spoken with him and he wants to return to Europe. We won't clip his wings if we get an offer that suits us.
"Of course there are bids for him, he has been the league's top scorer three times after all.
"He is a great guy and a magnificent player. He is under contract but we'll look to see what is the best option."
