Brazilian football legend Pele has claimed Mexico are capable of winning the World Cup.
The best they have managed so far has been a quarter-final finish - most recently as the host nation in 1986 - but Pele believes under coach Hugo Sanchez they are ready to kick on.
He said: "Mexican football has progressed a lot and they have a strong enough team to win the World Cup.
"Hugo Sanchez is doing a great job. I know Hugo because he was an international player and played in Europe. He knows players very well.
"Now they need luck because coaches also need it."
