A strengthening Western Sydney Wanderers side travelled across the country to nib Stadium, with hopes of inflicting more pain on an already hurt Perth Glory. The boys in Purple however, had brought in reinforcements, showing their intent to get back on track.
Coming off five straight losses made the task even harder for the Glory, down on confidence and goals. The Wanderers were in the same boat, winless in their past three and finding it hard to gel as a team under a new playing style.
Controversy struck early, with Wanderers youngster Keanu Baccus being sent off, after VAR Craig Zetter gave the word from upstairs. From there, it just got worse for the visitors with the night not holding any luck whatsoever. It was ‘one of those days’ for the Red and Black, the pressure mounting on a club with such high standards.
Perth Glory
Liam Reddy - 6
Very lucky to not see red, in a lot of eyes. Some sloppy goalkeeping to concede the goal. Made some smart saves and commanded his defensive line.
Scott Neville – 5.5
Average play from the fullback. Defended some fairly tame attacking from Wanderers’ players. Rarely offered anything going forward.
Dino Djulbic – 6.5
Good performance in his first game back in purple, solid and strong defensive game as always.

Shane Lowry – 6
Disappointed in himself for letting Oriol Riera find free space leading to the Wanderers’ penalty. Solid game, cleared the potential danger when he could and kept the ball movement into midfield flowing.
Joe Mills - 6
Made occasional smart runs down the side to support the wide midfielders. Didn’t really manage to cause any real threat with crosses into the attacking area.
Chris Harold – 6
Got up and down the flank, but could rarely find a pocket of space to receive or release the ball into.
Neil Kilkenny – 6
Good performance after just one training session with his new teammates. Possibly the fix to Glory’s missing link in the midfield this season.
Xavi Torres - 7
Strong game. Quick passing to the wide players meant more opportunities to attack. Assertive when running with the ball and always knew where he wanted to go and what to do.
Joel Chianese - 6
Created the chance for the opening goal, sucking the defender in to committing the foul. Scored a disallowed goal and moved about intelligently.
Andy Keogh - 6
Brilliant finish to restore the home side’s lead in the dying stages of the first half. Didn’t really offer much to his teammates on any other occasions.

Diego Castro – 8
Really smart play throughout with some dazzling footwork. Two goals on the night, both from set pieces and combined with the Glory players expertly.
SUBS
Jacob Italiano – 5.5
Got involved in a few Glory attacks, but nothing came of them.
Brandon Wilson – N/A
Didn’t have enough time to warrant a rating.
Jake Brimmer – N/A
Didn’t have enough time to warrant a rating.
Western Sydney Wanderers
Vedran Janjetovic - 6
Couldn’t do much on any of the three goals conceded. Made solid saves when he could.
Josh Risdon – 5.5
Made some good and intelligent runs down the wing, but never managed to deliver a dangerous cross and struggled defensively against Diego Castro.
Brendan Hamill – 5.5
Between Hamill and Thwaite, neither of them could keep the defensive line strong enough to stop the Glory attack.

Michael Thwaite – 4.5
Failed to hold his defence together, and was made to pay by conceding three goals. Took a lot of the blame on his own shoulders in his post-match interview.
Jack Clisby - 4
Didn’t offer much going forward. Potential that Clisby could’ve become overwhelmed by the runs made by Glory players in his position.
Keanu Baccus – N/A
Didn’t have enough time to warrant a rating after being sent off by the VAR just six minutes in.
Chris Herd – 5.5
Found it hard to find his teammates up front and didn’t find gaps to move into within the Glory midfielde.
Marcelo Carrusca – 3
Failed to impact the play in anyway. Was often overlooked as an option out wide for the Wanderers.
Steven Lustica - 4
Only mustered one real shot, not what you want from an attacking player. Failed to deliver any dangerous crosses and didn’t do much in possession.
Oriol Riera - 6
Couldn’t do much without any proper service from his teammates. Dispatched the penalty to bring the Wanderers level with some real conviction.

Roly Bonevacia - 5
As much as the Dutchman tried to influence the game, he was unable to. Some sloppy touches meant that there were far too many turnovers to someone in a Glory shirt.
SUBSTITUTES
Josh Sotirio – N/A
Didn’t do enough to warrant a rating.
Raul Llorente – 5.5
His team was trailing by two at the time he was brought on and under massive amounts of pressure. Managed to offer something out wide, as an avenue to release the pressure from the Glory.
Brendon Santalab – N/A
Didn’t do enough to warrant a rating.
