The 36-year-old visited Glory in June and was impressed by the side's facilities.

He was given a deadline to make a decision on his future, but failed to contact the club after reportedly being offered a deal from a top club in Europe.

Glory coach Ron Smith was disappointed the former Rangers star would not be joining, but insisted they could not wait any longer with the transfer window due to close at the end of July.

"As the transfer deadline approaches our options become more limited and we simply couldn't wait indefinitely for Michael to decide," Smith said.

"There are a number of other players that I have been in contact with who would be terrific signings for Perth this season and we need to act on this as quickly as possible.

"We have a great bunch of lads together already and we'll continue to recruit quality players to fill the few remaining places on our squad," added Smith.
