Wellington Phoenix FC have confirmed a bumper double-header culminating in the visit of football mega-star David Beckham.
The Hyundai A-League club today confirmed it had brought forward its exhibition match against Beckham's Los Angeles Galaxy to December 1 - the night after Phoenix face visiting Adelaide United at 7.30pm.
And Wellington's big weekend of the Beautiful Game will be a bargain, with entry to the Phoenix’s matches against Adelaide and the Galaxy included in the price of a single ticket.
Wellington Phoenix FC season members will receive significant benefits, including the opportunity to purchase tickets to the double-header before they go on sale to the general public.
Gold tickets for season members cost $82 and silver tickets $65. There are no concession (senior citizens/children) rates for gold tickets, but there is a concession for silver tickets, valued at $42.
Phoenix members will be able to purchase up to eight tickets (per membership) from 9am on Monday, October 1.
Ticket prices for adult non-Phoenix members start at $82.50 for silver seating, up to $100 for a gold section seat.
Again, there is no concession rate for gold section seating, but silver tickets for children and senior citizens will cost $50 each. Tickets go on sale to the general public from 9am on Monday, October 8.
Phoenix Chief Executive Tony Pignata said packaging the two games together would make for a bonanza weekend of football in Wellington.
“Including the Adelaide and Galaxy matches in the price of the ticket represents sensational value for money, with people able to see two top-class matches at a bargain price," Pignata said.
“We hope the fans will get along to Westpac Stadium and support the Phoenix against Adelaide on the Friday night and then come and watch the team take on the LA Galaxy to following evening.
“It’s a really exciting and unprecedented event for football in New Zealand and further demonstrates Wellington Phoenix FC’s commitment to growing the game in the capital and the rest of the country.”
