THE Football League would not comment on reports they have warned the Championship play-offs may be delayed pending the outcome of a disciplinary case against QPR.
Neil Warnock's men have already secured the title and with it promotion to the Barclays Premier League, but could yet be deducted points if found guilty of breaching rules over the signing of Alejandro Faurlin.
The Football Association are set to hear the case this week with a decision due on Friday - less than 24 hours before the final round of Championship fixtures.
Should QPR - who last played in the top flight 15 years ago and in 2001 suffered relegation down to the third tier - then decide to appeal against any sanctions which would see them drop down into the play-offs, the whole end-of-season schedule could be put on hold.
Warnock insists he is "not bothered" about the hearing, with Rangers supposed to be presented with the Championship trophy after their clash with Leeds at Loftus Road next Saturday.
Winger Tommy Smith is confident QPR will be playing among the elite in the Premier League next season.
"We saw a few bits in the paper in midweek and everyone was talking about it, as you would," said the 30-year-old.
"But the gaffer has been great. He has assured us what is going to happen and put a bit of confidence back in us.
"All we can do is put as many points on the table as we can and see what happens, but we are really confident it will just be a fine.
"We will have to wait and see what happens on Friday, but the more we talk about it the more we feel things will be fine."
