Australian born striker Richard Porta is set to receive his first cap for Uruguay. So far this season the twenty-four year old has netted twenty times and leads the goalscoring charts in the Primera División Uruguaya. If capped Porta will join a rapidly growing list of talented players who have been overlooked by the national team. Players such as Josip Šimunic, Joey Didulica, Christian Vieri, Anthony Šeric and Ivan Ergic have all been rejected by the Socceroos yet they have all had extremely successful careers overseas.
