Rami has been linked with a six-month switch to the Serie A club, who will reportedly have the option to sign the 27-year-old on a permanent basis at the end of the season.

The France international has been suspended without pay by Valencia after criticising his team-mates and manager Miroslav Djukic last month in the wake of the club's poor start to the campaign.

And Salvo expects an agreement to be reached in the near future.

"There is nothing finalised, neither from the player or from us," Salvo is quoted as saying in the Spanish press.

"We know that in the football world anything can happen, but considering the situation with the player, this is a good solution.

"I think that if everything is positive, we could close (the deal) soon, but I don't know.

"It's not only up to us, but also the player and Milan."

Rami joined Valencia in 2011 from Lille after winning the double with the French side, but his time at the Mestalla appears to be drawing to a close.

His comments regarding Valencia's players and management came days after their 3-1 win over Sevilla on September 22, a result that ended a run of four games without a win and started a five-match unbeaten streak.
