The Socceroos were given a footballing lesson by the world’s number one ranked side, Brazil, at the MCG on Tuesday night...but here's how they all ranked individually.
Douglas Costa 7 – A couple of sprightly runs down the left but most of Brazil’s attacks came from the opposite side. Tucked in at times, allowing offensive full-back Alex Sandro to run past him. Withdrawn after 58 minutes.
Giuliano 8 – A constant threat down Brazil’s right, regularly cutting in from the flank and running at Australia’s three-man defence. Early pressure led to Brazil’s opener, when he set up Souza after just 12 seconds.
Diego Souza 8 – Two goals marked a successful night for the 31-year-old. He linked up well with Brazil’s other attacking players and his performance will give manager Tite plenty to think about.
Subs
Taison 7 – Replaced Costa in the 58th minute. Finished off a superb move for Brazil’s third goal.
Willian 6 – The Chelsea star was given 20 minutes to show off his skills to the MCG crowd. Added some fresh legs after replacing Coutinho.
Fernandinho 6 – Came on with 18 minutes to go and shored up Brazil’s midfield.
Jemerson – Came on with 11 minutes remaining, not enough time to give a fair rating.
Rodriguinho – Came on with 11 minutes remaining, not enough time to give a fair rating.
Renato Augusto – Came on with seven minutes remaining, not enough time to give a fair rating.
