England international Beckham, who spent four years in the Spanish capital, has agreed terms to join the Italian giants in January on a three-month loan deal from the Los Angeles Galaxy which coincides with Major League Soccer's close season.

Raul, 31, has often been linked with a move to Italy during his career, but in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport he stressed that Madrid were the only team for him.

"There have been many contacts but my response has always been the same. Everyone knows I don't want to leave Madrid," Raul said.

"Nevertheless, if we are talking about fantasies, when I was little and thinking that I was going to be a footballer, I used to say to myself 'imagine if one day I play for Milan'.

"I would have liked to have played together with (Marco) Van Basten."

The striker also spoke about the influence current England manager Fabio Capello had on him during the Italian's first spell in charge of Madrid while Raul was still a teenager.

"Capello was fundamental to my career." he said. "When I met him at 19 years old I needed someone who would manage me, who would tell me what I had to do.

"I remember him with enormous affection. Furthermore, he brought to Real Madrid a different way of training and looking at football."
