The youngster has made a big impression during a trial spell in Holland but a big impression doesn't appear to have resulted in a hefty fee being put to the Reds.

Adelaide United's football director Michael Valkanis told the Adelaide Advertiser: "They have made an offer which wasn't adequate for the player Mark is.

"They are trying to take him away on the cheap from us and, at some stage, the A-League clubs have to make a stand. We deserve more respect."

The club believe the young keeper will be best served by remaining in the A-League for a while yet and Valkanis said they had every faith in him.

He said: "The club has believed in Mark for quite a while. If Eugene Galekovic is injured he goes straight in as number one keeper. We would not recruit a more experienced player."

The Dutch outfit have already demonstrated a liking for Australians with Brett Holman and James Holland on the books there.
