Moore has been told by his oncologist he requires no immediate further treatment for the testicular cancer which required surgery six weeks ago.

While attention has now turned to Sunday’s Suncorp Stadium clash with Wellington Phoenix, Moore admitted he was relieved to have received such good news so close to Christmas.

He said: “The blood results came back perfect and there was no change in the scan, so very good news.

“I go back in six weeks for a blood test and three months for a CAT scan, but that is very much protocol.

“The team, everybody involved at the club and fans have shown tremendous support through emails and what have you.

“Everybody has been fantastic and like I said it’s a huge relief and great news.”

Roar are set to embark on a run of five games in 21 days, starting with Wellington, and Moore cannot think of a better task to get stuck into at this stage of the season.

He said: “For me that’s a pleasing thing to be kept on the go and playing games regularly.

“You can see with Adelaide this season, I feel they have benefitted from having a lot of games and getting into a rhythm.

“So, it’s an exciting time for us.”

Roar will be aiming for a club record third successive win at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday following on from victories over Perth and Newcastle.

Queensland’s players have taken plenty of confidence from their recent home form, but Moore said they would pay due respect to a resurgent Phoenix outfit.

Moore said: “Records are there to be broken, but we’ll not be thinking too much about that.

“Three points is what we strive for every game and hopefully Sunday we can take three points again.

“Wellington got off to a slow start and all of a sudden they are a team, like ourselves to be honest, have hit form.

“It’s got all the makings of a good game.”
