EXCLUSIVE: Matt McKay believes Queensland Roar boast the psychological edge as they look to continue their role as undesirable guests at Bluetongue Stadium.
Saturday's clash sees third-placed Central Coast entertain a Roar outfit just two points behind and with a game in hand.
McKay and his colleagues have yet to lose on the Mariners own patch and the midfielder admits he loves playing there.
He told au.fourfourtwo.com today: "It's a great place to play and it's certainly been a good place for us over the years.
"We've never lost there and hopefully that will remain the case after this weekend's game. It certainly doesn't do any harm when you know you're going to play somewhere where you've done well before.
"We know we're in a for a tough game though. It always is against the Mariners. I think the two sides are similar in that we never ever give up. The Mariners were three down in a game this season and came back to draw so that tells you that they'll fight for everything."
Away form has been impressive for Roar this season, albeit after a recent blip at Telstra Dome, and now the club has finally got its act together at Suncorp.
After this weekend's clash in Gosford and a midweek trip to Adelaide, Roar round off the regular season with home games against Sydney FC and Perth Glory.
McKay said: "It's a relief not to be talking about 'that' (the so called curse of Suncorp) any more.
"Hopefully those fans who had maybe stopped coming to home games will come back and bring a friend with them.
"I imagine those who saw the late winner against the Phoenix will certainly come back.
"It's one match at a time but a club like ours should be in the finals every season."
