Brisbane Roar have snatched a five-goal thriller 3-2 over Perth Glory in front of a small yet vocal mid-week crowd at Suncorp Stadium.
Both sides came into the match with Brisbane and Glory nursing the two highest injury tolls in the A-League.
However, Perth Glory's hopes of a strong start against a weakened Roar outfit were dahed early as the home side snatched an opener within 180 seconds of play.
Fahid Ben Khalfallah's deft free kick was flicked on by Glory defender Jeremy Walker and the unlikliest of players in Avram Papadopoulos found himself unmarked to tuck the ball past Liam Reddy.
But the travelling 'tour of duty' would be celebrating an equaliser just ten minutes later as winger Chris Harold tucked away a powerful shot past Jamie Young after a delightful ball from Diego Castro on the half-way line.
The next thirty minutes would see a tense battle in the midfield with both sides spurning golden opportunites to take the lead.
However both sides failed to find the net in balmy conditions in the sunshine state.
Castro almost had Chianese through early on in the second half but the winger couldnt put his shot on target.
The Glory then went on the attack with Torres and Chianese both impressing in the front third.
But the visiting troupe would cop a sucker punch on the hour mark as Ben Khalfallah again played provider, driving a delightful ball into the box and onto the head of Ivan Franjic.
Harold though would again bring Perth level with a delightful dinking run through the box after some great lead up play from Keogh, although there was some controversy raised about the Irishmen's positioning.
Despite calls for the VAR, the replay showed Keogh to be offside before assisting the Glory winger.
But lament turned to jubilation four minutes later for the 6,258 home fans as a fine run from Massimo Maccarone found the Italian on the edge of the box.
The striker turned his man before laying a centering pass for Brett Holman to give the Roar the lead for the third time in the match in the 73rd minute.
Holman nearly returned the favour with a seeking long ball but the maestro, whose cut inside left Jeremy Walker in his wake, smashed a curling shot onto the crossbar.
Desperate to equalise late in the match, Castro went close to finding a much desired equaliser arriving late to meet a Joseph Mills cross but once again the Glory were denied, this time by the upright.
Brisbane Roar leapfrog Perth Glory into seventh on goal difference, as the visitors slump to their fifth loss in a row.
