Brisbane Roar have stunned Chinese big spenders Shanghai Shenhua to clinch their place in the AFC Champions League group stage with a 2-0 win in China on Wednesday night.
First-half goals from Brandon Borrello and Tommy Oar secured a stunning result for the A-League club.
Borrello opened the scoring inside two minutes with a brilliant right-foot volley from Oar's left-flank cross.
Oar doubled Roar's advantage on 40 minutes, with Borrello supplying the cutback this time.
Shanghai pressed hard in the second half, but Roar were resilient and denied their opponents.
Brisbane will take on Kashima Antlers, Ulsan Hyundai and Muangthong United in the group stage.
It is only the second in ACL history that three A-League clubs will compete in an edition.
