Fowler made it plain on his arrival that he was interested in the team and what was right for the team.

If Fowler he is a superstar then you'd never guess it by his behaviour, according to fellow Scouser Robinson.

"Robbie is a fantastic, quality player and someone I can learn a lot from. But he has come here and is just one of the boys. He is about the team, he works his socks off and he's a fantastic guy," he told au.fourfourtwo.com.

While Fowler is a hero to Liverpool supporters, Robinson followed Everton as a youngster. He denies booing Fowler mercilessly from the terraces but isn't slow to make the odd jibe.

"I've pointed out which Merseyside side team is in the FA Cup final," he joked.

While Fowler ties up a few loose ends before resuming pre-season duties, former Perth Glory forward Robinson  is loving life in Townsville and cannot speak highly enough of his new surroundings.

"It's just fantastic, it really is," he said. "Everything is in place for the players so all we need to concentrate on is the football side of things.

"The staff are brilliant and can't do enough for the players."

Robinson is relishing working with boss Ian Ferguson and senses the hunger within the squad to succeed.

He added: "The boys here are great and I think we're going to have a really exciting football team, playing the sort of football that Fergie wants.

"The chairman hasn't put pressure on us (by making bold claims or predictions) but as players you set yourself very high standards. We'll go out there with the mentality that we're trying to win every single game.

"To give yourself the best chance to win football matches you need hard work and the right spirit. We've got both of those.

"As for me, I think this is the start of an exciting chapter in my career. Fergie has brought me in as a forward and I'm looking forward to the challenge. I think there's more to come (from me).

"We've a lot of pre-season games to come which is great. I think we'll be firing on all cylinders when it comes to the start of the A-League season."
