The Selecao suffered a 2-0 loss in Paraguay in the fifth round of the World Cup qualifiers on Sunday, even though they played against 10 men for more than 40 minutes.

Argentina fared little better, salvaging a 1-1 draw thanks to a last-gasp goal by Rodrigo Palacio at home against Ecuador.

Robinho knows it is crucial Brazil find form against the old enemy at Belo Horizonte's Mineirao in a game some are saying could decide the fate of coach Dunga.

"We never like losing," said the Madrid man. "Against Argentina, we must win no matter what. We must change some things, risk quite a bit more in Belo Horizonte."

Adriano, who played the closing 30 minutes of the Paraguay match, is hoping to be given a place in the starting XI against Argentina.

"I hope I can play as I know I can," he said. "I hope I can show my game. There is nothing better than beating Argentina. We must be sure that we have enough quality to put an end to this bad period."

Despite the unexpected draw with the Ecuadorians, Argentina lie second in the South American Qualifying Zone, three points below leaders Paraguay.

But Lionel Messi knows the dropped points make a win against Brazil vital.

The Barcelona star said: "We need the points more than ever. We must go there and beat Brazil. We will do our best to win."

Coach Alfio Basile is backing his team to find form.

He said: "I am very optimistic ahead of Wednesday's match. We'll go to win.

"Sometimes, what you plan works well, sometimes not. But we'll do everything to beat them."

Leaders Paraguay travel to Bolivia on Wednesday to see if they can stretch their lead at the top of the table.

Under Gerardo Martino, the Guaranies are the only team yet to be beaten in the qualifying zone, having scored more goals and conceded fewer than any other side.

Bolivia, meanwhile, lie bottom of the table.

Roque Santa Cruz, who scored Paraguay's first goal against Brazil, hinted he will not start the Bolivia match at La Paz's Hernando Siles, situated at 3,600 metres above sea level.

The Blackburn striker said: "The last time I played in high altitude, I didn't feel well and I have already talked to the coach about that.

"I told him there are players who get used to altitude better and can help the team."

Also on Wednesday, Ecuador take on Colombia at Quito's Estadio Atahualpa, with Ecuador looking for their second win and the Cafeteros trying to reduce the four-point gap to the leaders.

The sixth round of the World Cup Qualifiers opens on Tuesday, when Uruguay play Peru in Montevideo.

The Charruas are looking to bounce back after their 1-1 draw with Venezuela, while the Peruvians have not yet won a game in the campaign and the position of coach Jose Guillermo del Solar is reportedly in danger.

Finally, on Thursday, Chile travel to Venezuela for a game between two in-form teams.

The Vinotinto defeated Brazil in a friendly match last week and then drew 1-1 with Uruguay in Montevideo, while Chile beat Bolivia 2-0 in La Paz on Sunday.

Chile coach Marcelo Bielsa hailed Venezuela, saying: "It will be very difficult. There are no easy games.

"I envisage a match between two teams with the potential to be better than the other. We'll try to do our best to make our qualities prevail."
