Tom Rogic started his first game at Celtic Park since December as the Bhoys thrashed St Johnstone 4-1 in the Scottish Premiership overnight (AEST).
The Socceroo helped the hosts pile on all four goals in an action-packed 25 minutes after half-time.
Rogic had several attempts on goal before the champions took control through Patrick Roberts’ brace.
The skilful Aussie has now started two matches over the past three weeks as he builds up his workload following mid-season ankle surgery.
With three regular season matches and a Scottish Cup final to come, Rogic still has every opportunity to press his case for selection in Ange Postecoglou’s FIFA Confederations Cup squad.
Fellow Australian Scott McDonald also started in Scotland as his Motherwell fight to avoid the drop.
The 33-year-old was unable to help the home side avoid a 1-0 defeat against Ross County, meaning they remain second-bottom ahead of 12th-placed Inverness.
Finishing 11th would see the Steelmen face off against the runners-up of the second-tier Scottish Championship for a place in the top flight next season.
