“It’s pretty exciting. It still feels a little surreal. It only really hit me when we got to England [on Monday] about how serious this opportunity actually is,” Rogic (pictured) told au.fourfourtwo.com.

On Thursday, unsigned 18-year-old Rogic and three other Aussie and New Zealand starlets will begin an exhaustive three-day test at the Nike Chance global trial in London.

The prize on offer is eight full-time contracts at Nike’s Academy in London. There the winners will have access to world class facilities and coaching and be in the shop window for a professional contract in the big leagues.

For an unsigned player like Rogic – who’s been training recently with the Mariners – it’s a chance to super-charge his career - if he’s good enough.

Vying for these contracts are 100 unsigned youngsters from 42 countries who have begun arriving in the English capital this week. The talent is expected to be hot.

He added: “I feel like I’m representing Australia – there are 40 other countries here so you have to feel some sort of responsibility and representation of your country.”

Our boys arrived in London on Monday and aside from Rogic they include Sydney-based keeper Niko Matic, left-sided defender Tom Doyle from Auckland and midfielder Alon Blumgat from Melbourne.

The quartet all won through the Australian and New Zealand based Pacific Chance trials in 2010.

And all now have an A-League connection. Aside from Rogic's stint in Gosford, Blumgart and Doyle have impressed at Melbourne Heart while Matic is a Central Coast Mariners youth team player.

It’s good that we got here a couple of days early to give us a chance to acclimatise and recover,” said Rogic, a creative playmaker.

“The Nike people have been really good in organising what we do before the trial, the hotel we’re staying in and having spas and massages and just staying in good shape.

“I think come the first day of training on Thursday, we’ll be ready.”

On Tuesday the players took the opportunity to relax and see some of the sights. Massages and stretching were also on the cards as Thursday looms closer.

When asked about having Arsene Wenger and Guus Hiddink attend training on Thursday and Rogic struggled to comprehend the enormity of it.

He added: “This whole experience is unbelievable and I won’t ever forget it. And it hasn’t even started.”
