The TV company U-turned on an apparent earlier decision to skip broadcasting the match after an outcry from fans.

Earlier today au.fourfourtwo.com questioned SBS over the blackout on the game and the change of heart came soon after.

Fans had been furious that free-to-air television looked like it was letting down the sport again.

However the games will only be shown on SBS's digital channel, meaning only viewers with digital set-top boxes or digital pay-tv will be able to watch it.

“SBS has played a pivotal role in the development of a football following in Australia and we understand only too well how passionate the supporters of the game are,” said SBS Head of Television and Online Content, Matt Campbell.

“So we have listened to football fans and we have responded. We will show both matches live and free-to-air on our second channel and during The World Game on Sunday.”

Coverage of Adelaide United against Egyptian club Al Ahly for fifth place at the Club World Cup will begin live from 6.20pm on SBS digital channel 33.

Coverage of Gamba Osaka against Manchester United for the last remaining place in the FIFA Club World Cup final against Quito will start at 9.20pm on the same channel.
