The 38-year-old Australian custodian had been beaten by Kevin Doyle's 42nd-minute strike, before making a mess of a Stephen Hunt cross on the stroke of half-time.

Schwarzer came out to claim Hunt's right-wing cross, but Roger Johnson nipped in before the Australian to nudge a header onto the post, before Matt Jarvis tucked the rebound into the open goal.

Despite the error, Schwarzer did make some good saves during the contest to deny Wolves inflicting more damage on the Cottagers.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Patrick Kisnorbo netted a disastrous own goal in Leeds United's 2-2 draw with West Ham United in England's Championship.

Kisnorbo somehow got his attempted clearance from Julien Faubert's cross all wrong, booting the ball past his own keeper to give the Hammers a 2-1 lead in the second-half, but Adam Clayton grabbed a late goal to salvage a point for the Whites.

Elsewhere in the Championship on Sunday, Scott McDonald went off at half-time after copping an early knock to his hamstring as Middlesbrough defeated Birmingham City 3-1.

The injury isn't considered serious and the Aussie's substitution was moreso precautionary. Meanwhile, Rhys Williams put in a full shift in midfield for Boro.
