New Bunyodkor coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has vowed to keep his squad intact as he aims to win them a first Asian Champions League title.
The former Chelsea and Portugal coach, who took over from former incumbent Memet Amet yesterday, was unveiled to the media at a press conference in the Uzbek capital.
The side currently sit atop of their domestic league, and face South Korean side Pohang Steelers in the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League on September 23, leading Scolari to insist he has faith in his current crop of players.
"I have joined them in the middle of the season and there is no reason to bring in new players," Scolari told the club website, www.fcbunyodkor.com.
"I will find out about the present players' skills before making any decision after the season is over."
The Brazilian coach, who guided his country to victory in the 2002 World Cup, joined the club on an 18-month contract with the option to extend it for a further year.
And he was quick to insist he would see out his deal unlike former coach and fellow Brazilian Zico, saying: "Don't worry, I will complete my contract."
He also revealed his plan to help Asian clubs improve as a whole.
"Asian clubs need to play more matches against strong rivals which will help Asian football improve faster," said the 60-year-old.
"I will use all my experience and knowledge to train new players and improve Bunyodkor.
"Though, it's not possible to do it all in just one day, we will achieve it step by step."
