Chelsea face Arsenal tomorrow with the Gunners still reeling from the dressing-room turmoil that forced manager Arsene Wenger to strip William Gallas of the captaincy.

The French defender publicly accused the club's youngsters of lacking the stomach to fight for the Barclays Premier League title and revealed he had to separate arguing team-mates at half-time during their 4-4 draw with Tottenham.

Wenger has appointed Cesc Fabregas as successor to Gallas but Scolari has no worries about Terry's commitment to the cause.

"The captain is the face for the coach on the pitch" said Scolari. "When I was captain of teams in Brazil, I was the face of my coach.

"I told the players on the pitch what the coach wanted. When John Terry was born, he was born a captain. He is the best captain a coach could have."

Former Chelsea defender Gallas will return to Stamford Bridge tomorrow but Scolari does not envisage any reaction from the home fans.

"Gallas was a player for Chelsea and played very well," said Scolari. "I don't think there will be any problem."

Scolari is looking forward to a contest that could see Chelsea widen the gap over their London rivals to 13 points.

He is also hoping for a more open game than last weekend when Newcastle put 10 men behind the ball and stifled Chelsea's attacking ambition.

"I think Arsenal will attack us more than the other teams," said Scolari. "But it won't be easy for us. Maybe we will have some opportunities that other teams have not given us.

"If we are intelligent, we will have chances to counter-attack. Arsenal play football - they are one of the best in the Premier League for that. They have a good defence but they try to attack more than defend.

"It is a different game for us and I will see if my defence is as good as I think."

With Didier Drogba sitting out the second game of a three-match suspension, Scolari is reliant yet again on Nicolas Anelka.

The French striker has scored 14 goals so far this season and he will be keen to add to that tally against one of his former clubs.

"I know Nicolas has played more times than last season and he has had more opportunity to score," said Scolari.

"Sometimes he makes a mistake in front of goal but now he is our top scorer. He is working for the team and if we win and he has worked hard, I am happy.

"But all the players know it is an important game at home. It is a big derby for us."
