Celebrating Scotland’s inaugural appearance at a Women’s World Cup, adidas has released the nation’s first-ever women’s home and away kits, designed exclusively for the World Cup.

Another International Women’s Day release by adidas, the 20th-placed team in FIFA’s Women’s World Rankings will look to make a successful start to their first World Cup campaign and will be doing it in two stylish new playing strips to boot.

Scotland’s traditional dark blue, a staple of every home kit, remains the colour of choice for the primary strip which, whilst not being anything particularly special, has a clean, timeless finish which makes it more of an old-faithful, a general recipe for success. In short, it works, which is all it needs to do.

Far more interesting, however, is the nation’s pink away kit, which is somewhat reminiscent of Manchester United’s well-received 18-19 away strip.

The baby pink colourway is a risk that tends to be quite popular when it is pulled off successfully, and Scotland’s first-ever women’s away jersey is sure to be a solid happy-medium for fans of different ages.

A German logo on a Scottish kit, the adidas 3-stripes features on the shoulders of either kit, continuing down the sides of the jerseys and along the shorts; white for home, black for away.

The Shelley Kerr-coached side is set for a massive first test on June 10, coming up against UK rivals and fourth-ranked England, who boast a lineup of world-class names such as Lucy Bronze, Fran Kirby and Jodie Taylor.
