Scotland are reportedly considering playing a friendly international against Iran in Tehran later this year.
The game could be played on May 28, four days after the Scottish Cup final, BBC Scotland have reported.
An Iranian Football Federation spokesman has claimed the Scottish FA made the first move to arrange the game.
Scotland famously played Iran at the 1978 World Cup, when the team from the Middle East secured a shock 1-1 draw against Ally MacLeod's side.
