A late show saved Switzerland as their great run in the group stages continued with a 2-1 victory, thanks to Xerdan Shaqiri. Switzerland have become the first side to come from behind and win a match in the group stages at the 2018 World Cup.
Luka Milivojevic - 5
Had a header saved by Yann Sommer in the first half and just about dealt with Serbia's pressure, especially with the menacing Aleksander Mitrovic lying in waiting for a second goal.
Dusan Tadic - 6.5
Influential yet again, supplying the cross for Mitrovic's goal to open the scoring in the fifth minute. Tadic cut inside and crossed with his left boot to the tall striker who buried the header.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - 6.5
Some exquisite passing, opening up avenues of attack for Dusan Tadic. Treasured the ball, dribbling forward with menace as defences dissolved. Unleashed right foot shots to scare the Swiss defence.
Filip Kostic - 4.5
Not a fantastic match from Jostic who came in for Adam Ljajic in this match. On one occasion he made inroads behind Lichsteiner and entered the box. He was substituted after receiving a yellow card.
Aleksander Mitrovic - 6.5
Taking advantage of his height, Serbia scored through the 23-year old. Mitrovic buried a header from Tadic's right-wing cross. Took a lot of confidence from the goal and threatened for a second all night.
Subs
Adam Ljajic - 5
Hit a dangerous shot after cutting inside in the 77th minute which was saved. His passing was of more importance as he linked up with the Serbian attackers.
Nemanja Radonjic - 5
Better on the counter-attack as a defensive midfielder was brought on for him, an attacker.
