Sven-Goran Eriksson's advisors have refused to comment on reports he has been approached about taking a senior role at Notts County.
Reports emerged today claiming the League Two club's ambitious new owners, Munto Finance, were keen to lure the former England and Manchester City boss to Meadow Lane.
The new owners announced their ambition to get the club back into the Championship within five years when they completed their takeover last week.
Ian McParland has been kept on as manager and speculation suggested Eriksson was to be approached to take on an advisory position.
However, Eriksson's agent Athole Still refused to comment on the reports while the club were unavailable for comment.
Eriksson, 61, resigned as Lazio coach on January 9, 2001, to become the first foreign manager of the England team on a five-year deal.
He steered England to a 5-1 win over Germany in Munich in September of that year to move into pole position in qualifying.
England bowed out of the 2002 World Cup finals in Japan and South Korea with a 2-1 quarter final defeat at the hands of Brazil.
Another quarter-final exit followed at Euro 2004, this time against hosts Portugal.
Eriksson announced in January 2006 he would quit his England job after the 2006 World Cup finals and England bowed out to yet another quarter-final penalty shoot-out defeat - again at the hands of Portugal.
The Swede took over as Manchester City manager in 2007 and parted company with City on June 2, 2008. The following day he was announced as the new head coach of Mexico.
Eriksson was sacked as Mexico coach in April of this year.
