The 22-year-old has attracted interest from a whole host of clubs, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea and Internazionale among the sides reportedly interested in the Euro 2008 winner.

Roma were reportedly in Valencia last week to discuss a possible 25million euro bid for the playmaker.

However Silva's agent, Julio Llorente, insists that no offer has been made as yet, and that his client's wish is to remain with Los Che.

"He (Silva) wants to stay at Valencia," Llorente told Spanish newspaper AS.

"From that starting point we'll see what happens, but staying at Valencia is his first choice.

"After that, if other opportunities arise then we'll analyse them, but at the moment he's very happy here."

Llorente went on to stress, however, that Silva's situation may change if the club decide they want to sell the player to raise funds.

The club are reported to be in financial difficulties, despite the fact that new president Vicente Soriano has insisted that an injection of funds is due to arrive and Silva and fellow Spain star David Villa will not be sold.

"If in the next few days anything comes up which changes that then we'll have to weigh it up and make a decision," he said.

"David wants to stay and he has a contract. Lots of clubs have shown an interest in him, for that reason he wants Valencia to show him that they value him.

"That's normal, but he wants to stay."

Silva's agent also insisted that he had not invited any interest in his client, and that if clubs were interested in Silva it was due to the player's good performances over the past few seasons.

He said: "It's normal that there's interest because he's a player who's had two very good seasons, he played at Euro 2008 and did really well and it's normal that there are offers for a player who has stood out like that.

"But we haven't looked at anything because David is a Valencia player and unless they tell us otherwise he'll be a Valencia player for five years."
