GREECE captain Angelos Basinas has promised to attack against Russia this weekend.
The European Championship holders played five at the back against Sweden and the defence of their title started with defeat in Salzburg.
It was the same negative tactics that drew criticism when they won the tournament four years ago - but they now need a result against Russia at Stadion Wals-Siezenheim.
"Now we must attack against Russia because they will as well," Basinas said. "We don't have the luxury or time to wait for them to come to us. This match is it, and we have no other option."
Goalkeeper Antonis Nikopolidis added: "We are with our backs against the wall and on Saturday we play our last hand for qualification.
"We will not make any excuses for our performance against Sweden but what we can promise is you will see a different team on Saturday against Russia."
