SOUTH Melbourne has been fined and handed a 3-0 loss following the abandonment of its round six clash with Heidelberg United in the farewell to Bob Jane Stadium.
The FFV has announced the fixture has been awarded 3-0 to United, giving them their first win of the season.
South Melbourne were found guilty of two misconduct offences and fined $3500. A life ban has been handed to three associates of the club.
Heidelberg were found guilty of one offence and fined $2000 with one associate banished for life.
"Football Federation Victoria takes a zero-tolerance approach to inappropriate behaviour at all FFV fixtures," a league statement read.
The tribunal deliberated on Wednesday night to come to its decision.
"The safety of the players, officials and other supporters is paramount, and any behaviour that contradicts this will not be tolerated," the FFV said.
More than 30 fans entered the playing arena after midfielder Carl Recchia scored a stoppage time equaliser in the clash earlier this month.
One man got face to face with Heidelberg goalkeeper Steve Tilovski and the referee was forced to call an abrupt end to proceedings as tensions boiled over.
A fan was ejected for using a laser in the first half, forced out of the arena by security at the beginning of the second period.
The invasion signalled the end of a proud history for the club at the venue, with a $50.3 million redevelopment to take place over the next 18 months.
