Valencia chief Vicente Soriano has rubbished reports he offered David Villa and David Silva to Real Madrid.
It had been claimed Soriano, president of the cash-strapped club, had offered the two Spain internationals for 60million euros to Madrid president Vicente Boluda after speaking with him at a restaurant in Valencia yesterday.
However, Soriano has denied any such proposal was made, claiming the reports were "completely false".
"We just said hello because we know each other. We didn't say a single word referring to football or players.
"I'm obliged to come out and say this because the news is totally untrue, just so the Valencia fans know.
"Whoever spread this false information could have contradicted the story with only one call and we would have avoided all this."
Villa, meanwhile, has followed in the footsteps of team-mate Silva by insisting he wants to complete his contract with Valencia.
Villa penned a six-year deal with Los Che last August, tying him to the club until 2014, and he told Radio Marca tonight: "I signed a contract of six years and I'm going to fulfil it.
"The club have always kept me informed about everything related to me and they haven't said anything about a possible offer."
Silva declared on Monday that he wanted to see out his long-term contract with Valencia, having last year penned a seven-year deal with the Primera Division outfit.
