Roux, who joined from Perth Glory in 2013, has made more than 70 appearances for the club.

The fullback is off-contract at the end of the season but wants to remain with the Mariners.

"Yeah it's something that I want to do," he said.

"The team's playing well now and Paolo's got a vision for the team. It's definitely something that I'm looking forward to do is maybe re-sign and stay here.

“It's always great when the coach believes in you, it makes you play better and believe in yourself."

Roux has been handed the captain's armband on occasion at the Mariners this season.

"I got the armband obviously because Monty was out," he said.

"He's our captain and we all look up to him as players. But it's an honour to get the captain's armband whenever you can.

“I'd like to turn into more of a leader, but first and foremost, Monty is our captain and all the boys know that and really respect him."

Central Coast are riding high after three victories in a row. Roux said the Mariners could "feel it coming" for a while.

"We could feel it coming throughout the season and we've finally got the results," the Kiwi said.

"The belief is growing every week. The whole team's in great form, it's not just the back four who are doing a great job defending."

The Mariners host Melbourne Victory on Sunday and Roux said his side wants to continue their winning momentum.

"Victory are always dangerous," the 24-year old said.

"They've got great players and we know that, we know their threats.

“[But] it's just another game for us - we're on a great roll and we just want to keep it going."
