Roman Pavlyuchenko is one of the players Stuttgart have considered as a replacement for Mario Gomez, according to their director of sport Horst Heldt.
The Tottenham forward would become a serious option should Stuttgart fail in their bid to sign Demba Ba from Bundesliga rivals Hoffenheim, Heldt revealed to the Stuttgarter Nachrichten newspaper.
"Pavyluchenko is an interesting player and we have discussed his name internally," he said.
Stuttgart, who finished third in the Bundesliga last season, are on the lookout for a new forward after losing Gomez to Bayern Munich for 30million euros.
