AFTER two supersub cameos Central Coast Mariners utility Pedj Bojic is set to earn a recall for Saturday night's match against Adelaide at Canberra Stadium.
After starting for much of the season, Bojic has been used as a second half replacement by Mariners coach Lawrie McKinna in a 3-0 win over Brisbane Rovers and last week's defeat against Newcastle Jets.
But after last week's disappointing loss against the Jets, Bojic is almost certain to be on the field from the start at Canberra Stadium.
Bojic can play in midfield or defence with a good workrate and in the victory over Brisbane, he showed hisĀ eye for goal after finding the back of the net with a spectacular shot from the edge of the box.
However McKinna is still unsure who will make way for Bojic.
"At this stage we'll look to get Pedj back into the starting eleven for Saturday night," McKinna said. "He's done well in last two matches off the bench and has been working hard at training.
"He deserves a shot."
After what has been a stop-start campaign for the Mariners, victory on Saturday night is essential if the team is to stay in touch with the leaders.
The Mariners are in fifth spot, one position ahead of Adelaide, who have also been inconsistent this season.
The only other time the Mariners played at Canberra Stadium in the A-League this season resulted in a 2-1 victory against Perth when captain Alex Wilkinson scored his first and only goal after just under 100 appearances.
