NORTH Queensland Fury's Daniel McBreen and Perth Glory's Jimmy Downey could be set to swap clubs, according to a report today.
A report in the Perth media claims that Downey would favour a switch closer to his Queensland-based family while Glory would take McBreen for the rest of the season before his switch to Central Coast Mariners.
Glory are bracing themselves for the exits of Mile Sterjovski and Jacob Burns later this month although neither has yet to fix up a move elsewhere.
"We understand North Queensland may be looking to release Daniel but there has been no formal arrangement," Glory deputy chairman Lui Giuliani told the West Australian.
"North Queensland have also expressed an interest in Jimmy and if he wishes to go, which would bring him closer to his family, we would consider it."
Downey has battled injury problems this season and his role has been restricted to that of substitute for Dave Mitchell's men.
