Jose Mourinho is unconcerned whether captain John Terry takes another three months to sort out a new contract at Chelsea as long as he stays at the club for a long time.
The 26-year-old was prevented from returning to first-team action in a thrilling FA Cup quarter-final against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge because of the head injury he sustained against Arsenal in the Carling Cup final a fortnight ago.
Talks about a new deal for the England captain are understood to have collapsed over the length of his contract extension and his pay demands.
But Mourinho, who watched his side produce a sensational second-half fightback against Spurs to keep their FA Cup dreams alive, does not see the delay as a drama.
Mourinho declared: "John is on a long-term contract. His contract is until 2009. It is a long-term contract and he is a Chelsea player until then minimum - so no problem.
"It is better if he has a contract until 2015, better for him and for Chelsea. But if he has a contract until 2009 and they take one more month or two or three, until they sign a new one, I don't see a drama."
