MICHAEL Thwaite has issued a rallying call to Gold Coast United fans to make Skilled Park a noisy fortress for the A-League new boys.
Thwaite has praised the supporters who made the trip to Brisbane last week and felt they had succeeded in outsinging the home fans.
"The noise last week when we scored was fantastic and we want more of that," he told the club's official website. "We'll do our best to provide the action they want to see and give them plenty to cheer about.
"Our supporters set a high benchmark last weekend so we're hoping they can out-do themselves this week and be even more vocal.
"It can give us such an advantage over the opposition and Skilled Park is perfectly designed to host a fantastic atmosphere, which after all is what makes football different from the other codes."
Having chalked up one Queensland derby triumph, Thwaite and his teammates will be looking to make it two derby wins in a row when they entertain North Queensland Fury this weekend.
Thwaite believes the supporters have a huge role to play in building a successful club and hopes as many as possible will pack into the ground for an historical first home game.
He added: "We are confident of having a successful season and we want as many people as possible to enjoy this journey with us."
