OLYROOS Nathan Burns is off on a trial that could see him join Socceroo Michael Thwaite at his new Norwegian club, SK Brann.
Adelaide United this afternoon confirmed Burns had been invited for the 10 day trial with the Norwegian champions.
Burns flew out of Adelaide late this afternoon bound for Norway looking to impress the Norwegian club.
Burns will return in 10 days to join the AUFC squad for training, with Match Day 1 in the AFC Champions League match against Korean Champions Pohang Steelers on March 12 in Korea.
Regardless of the outcome overseas, Burns will be a part of Adelaide United for the AFC Champions League which concludes on the 21st May against Chinese Champions Changchun Yatai in China.
A club spokesman added: "If Nathan is able to secure a contract overseas that he is happy with then the club will not stand in his way."
Burns stormed onto the scene in his debut Hyundai A-League season after signing for United as an 18 year old prior to the 2006/07 season, finishing as United’s equal top goal scorer and becoming one of the league’s leading strikers.
He recently signed a two year contract with the Reds, but with a Euro get-out clause that allowed him to leave for a European club at any time.
