New Roar recruit Tiatto escaped punishment in the match at Suncorp Stadium, but was later hauled before a discipinary hearing and banned for the shocker.

But while Tiatto has now served his sentence, Alagich is still struggling to recover from the incident.

He had to come off in last weekend's game against Wellington Phoenix when the injury started playing up again on him.

"It's from the Tiatto tackle," Alagich told the Adelaide Advertiser. "I went to close down the ball (and I slipped and collapsed on my knee."

Now Alagaich is aiming to get back to being match fit for their crucial clash against runaway league leaders Central Coast Mariners this weekend.

"I've got quite a bit of bone bruising, the kneecap, the capsule is all stretched and a bit of tendonitis," he said.

"Some days it's good, other days it's ordinary."

He added: "It's one of those things that if I even jar it at training, it takes 10 to 15 minutes to settle down.

"Tuesday and Wednesday generally it's quite ordinary, stiff and sore. Then I get treatment through the week it frees everything up and then the mobility is good.

"I can't get my heel back up to my buttocks."
