ITALY striker Luca Toni has urged his team-mates to put last night's setback against Egypt behind them and focus on returning to winning ways against Brazil.
The world champions lost 1-0 at the Confederations Cup with Mohamed Hommos' first-half goal the difference between the two sides.
The Azzurri now meet Group B leaders Brazil on Sunday needing a win to have any chance to make it to the semi-finals in the tournament in South Africa.
"My team-mates and I must look at each other in the face and react," said Toni. "We need a great performance against Brazil.
"We need to beat them and then we can think about the calculations regarding qualifying.
"The situation is not ideal but at this time, the only thing we must have in our mind is the game against Brazil."
Brazil lead the group standings with six points after two games.
Italy are level on three points with Egypt, who next take on winless United States.
The Bayern Munich forward believes his side will need to make a vast improvement if they are to upset Brazil.
"We played a terrible first half against Egypt," said Toni, who went on as a second-half substitute. "After the re-start we did things went better.
"But the Egyptian goalkeeper (Essam El Hadary) was the best player on the pitch.
"But that should not be an excuse, what counts is the result and we lost.
"Now the most important thing is that we start playing as Italy, the world champions."
