Moore will be brought up to peak fitness by Roar’s fitness gurus in the coming weeks, but coach Frank Farina has turned his attention to the Wellington game and is eyeing off a first win in this season’s competition after two successive draws so far.

The Phoenix will be no pushovers though and their 3-0 defeat of Sydney FC last weekend raised eyebrows in the Roar camp.

“Apparently Wellington Phoenix did quite well against the Central Coast Mariners the week before that as well and if we want to go through to the semi-finals of this tournament we have to beat them, it’s as simple as that,” Farina said.

“They’ll be a good side and we’re expecting it to be difficult. For us it’s about staying on our own course and continuing to work on what we’re trying to achieve by the time the season starts in August.

“The most important thing is that we will get another good hit-out and we can have a look at our travelling arrangements to New Zealand.

"The last time we went there we were very flat and lost the game, so this time we’re going to try a couple of different things in terms of the travel and what we do when we’re there, so we can see if it improves us.

“We’ll be monitoring what we do on this trip very closely and try to track changes in the players’ energy levels, etc.

"It’s what we do on match day that concerns us most, so we’ll take a good look at that.”

Andrew Packer and Ante Milicic have stayed behind in Brisbane with Packer aggravating his torn hamstring earlier in the week and Milicic nursing a slight knee injury.

Also missing out is Brazilian midfielder Marcinho, but he is progressing well with his strained groin and is expected to make a return next weekend.

Promising youngster Michael Zullo has recovered from the virus infection that kept him out last week and will make his debut for the Roar at some point during the clash with the Phoenix.
