Having earned a bye through the group stage of this year's tournament, Urawa learned on Saturday they would face Kuwaiti side Al Qadisiya in the quarter-finals after the draw for the knockout stage was conducted in Kuala Lumpur.

The J.League side are determined to retain their continental crown and Reds chief Morihiko Yamaji emphasised they would be giving Engels their full support.

"We know that all of the teams playing in the quarter-finals are strong sides with good capabilities, which means that all of our games will be tough," said Yamaji.

"We will give the team our full support to ensure that they can prepare well in all areas before playing in the knockout stage," he added.

Engels admits he knows little of the Kuwaiti side, who reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2006 and topped a group this year which included Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan, Arbil of Iraq and Al Gharafa of Qatar.

"We know they are a strong side as they came through a tough group," said Engels.

"But as we didn't play against them last year and we are not able to watch their games on television in Japan, we now need to collect whatever detailed information we can discover about them.

"We have to travel a long way to play against them, but they also have to travel a long way as well to come over here so that shouldn't be an issue.

"We've just got to make sure that we prepare as well as we can for the game."
