Sporting vice president Fernando Gomez today issued an official statement on the club's website, valenciacf.es, following accusations from Valencia's former financial consultant Juan Villalonga that Villa is set for a move to Real Madrid and negotiations with Roma for Silva are "advanced".

"Valencia CF has made no agreement nor are they involved in any negotiations to transfer David Villa and David Jimenez Silva to any club in Spain or abroad," the statement read.

"It is completely untrue. I have informed both the players and their agents in an official and clear manner that the firm intention of the club is for both of the players to stay with us and see out their contracts."

The statement continued to define Villalonga as "a known fan and member of Real Madrid, something he has never been of our club".

Valencia have become embroiled in a bitter war of words with Villalonga since former president Juan Soler fired him for criticising the way the club was run and for having debts of around 400million euros.

Villalonga told Spanish newspaper AS last night: "Last week we could have stopped the transfer of David Villa to Real Madrid.

"Also (Valencia) are in advanced talks over the transfer of Silva to Roma for 25million euros plus an extra five. And I say five because they know what I'm referring to."
