AJAX coach Marco van Basten has not given up on signing FC Twente defender Rob Wielaert before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Twente have insisted the 29-year-old is not for sale but Van Basten is hopeful an agreement can be reached.
"I don't know anything else other than that the clubs are still speaking," he told De Telegraaf.
"He is wanted, yes. But I do understand the possibilities. Everyone has a price.
"We have until August 31 and we will not let that pass without reinforcing the squad. But with Wielaert it is taking a long time."
