Van Bommel has not played recently after suffering a recurrence of a knee problem and he was an unused substitute in Bayern's victory over Nurnberg in the Bundesliga yesterday.

He was still selected for the Dutch squad to face Turkey with Bert van Marwijk's decision looking likely to add to the strain between Bayern and the Dutch football association (KNVB).

Bayern had asked for Van Bommel to be released before the Euro 2012 qualifier against Sweden last month because of his injury problems but Holland coach Van Marwijk, his father-in-law, claimed he was fit and he played for 70 minutes.

The club had already been in dispute with the KNVB after Arjen Robben returned from the World Cup with a hamstring injury.

Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge then issued a warning for Van Bommel not to play in the game in Amsterdam.

However, Van Bommel is adamant he has the full backing of his club to train with the Dutch squad although he refused to say whether they had advised him not to travel.

Van Bommel told www.ad.nl: "It makes no sense to talk about things that do not matter. I'm fully fit and Mr Rummenigge, (president Uli) Hoeness and coach (Louis) van Gaal thought it was a good idea. I have talked extensively with them.

"I am quite fit and am looking forward to Wednesday.

"So, this week 75% of Bayern Munich players are on the road. I can train here at Oranje with world-class players and play football. That's just good."

The players were training this afternoon in Noordwijk with Wesley Sneijder set to arrive later, the midfielder having played for Inter Milan in their derby against AC Milan on Sunday night.

Demy de Zeeuw, Urby Emanuelson and Khalid Boulahrouz are all out injured but Van Marwijk has not called up any replacements for the trio.

Boulahrouz may be out for up to three weeks after he suffered a muscle tear in his right calf during Stuttgart's 3-3 draw with Kaiserslautern at the weekend.
