MELBOURNE Heart coach John van 't Schip admits his side's inability to score has become a big problem after going four matches without a goal following Sunday's 3-0 loss at Gold Coast United.
Heart dominated possession against United but failed to turn their good play into goals in the first half and were made to pay by Gold Coast who took their chances.
Van 't Schip's men have now claimed just one point from their past five matches
"It's beginning to become a big story," van 't Schip told FoxSports, speaking about his side's profilgacy in front of goal.
"We're not scoring. In the first half we were playing okay, we were creating chances and then if you don't score it's difficult.
"They were very efficient, they had two shots on goal, from one shot they got a corner and from out of the corner they scored. That's important, that's part of football."
Heart defender Matt Thompson said the situation had become frustrating.
"Five games without a win and just one point to make it worse. It is frustrating," Thompson said.
"The first 35 minutes we played some good stuff and had some opportunities and then set-piece, goal, behind the eight-ball at half-time.
"It's just frustrating at the moment, we can't seem to not only score but keep things out which makes it hard for yourself."
Sixth-placed Heart are next in action in midweek against Newcastle Jets and van 't Schip said he'd access his options ahead of the clash with a few injury concerns.
"We have to first see how the players pull up after the game," he said.
"I think there might be a few problems with Alex and Michael Marrone, they went out with injuries. We have to see how they come up tomorrow."
