To see Melbourne training for the Adelaide game...

“I feel Melbourne will shade it tonight,” he tells au.fourfourtwo.com. “They still have that champions' mentality of not getting beaten.

“Adelaide have been a little brittle at times. They haven't been able to grind results out like Melbourne has been able to do.

“Having said, the Reds are also the most attractive side in the A-League to watch.”

However, the former Socceroo and national youth coach isn't ready to say Victory is back to its best after two wins on the spin.

“Their season is on track after beating both Queensland and Sydney, but I don't think they've turned the corner. They are far from where they were last season.”

Much of the debate about the 2007 championship winning side versus the current incarnation centres on the loss of Fred and his purported replacement Carlos Hernandez.

“Carlos Hernandez is more a passer of the ball. That's the difficulty, do you change the system to accommodate him?" asks Postecoglou.

“Ernie [Merrick] knows his side better than I but I'd say rather than changing the system to suit one player, they'll be looking to get the most out of the front two of Allsopp and Thompson.

“And also getting more out of their wide players such as Keenan. And getting Milicevic back on his feet is important to them.”

Milicevic has been included in the Victory squad for the game after a spell with a knee injury sustained in round one.

Victory striker Danny Allsopp told au.fourfourtwo.com that Adelaide is always a hard contest.

“We're doing well," he said. This is the second of a couple of tough away matches after Sydney.

"It's always hard in Adelaide and it's such an even league, everyone's taking points off each other.”
