MELBOURNE Victory have re-signed defender Rody Vargas, midfielder Evan Berger and back-up goalkeeper Mitch Langerak.
Vargas and Berger will remain with the club until the end of the 2010/11 Hyundai A-League season while Langerak has been locked away until the end of 2011/12.
Securing Emerald-born Langerak in particular was important for Melbourne as it now means the competition's two new expansion teams Gold Coast United and North Queensland FC, both of whom hail from the 20-year-old's home state of Queensland, will be unable to poach him.
Vargas, a championship player, has played 50 Hyundai A-League games for Victory since crossing from Victorian Premier League club Green Gully two years ago.
21-year-old Berger, who suffered a long-term ankle injury in his debut season last year, has only played 12 domestic games for Melbourne while Langerak has made just five appearances for the club in Australia's premier football competition while serving as Michael Theoklitos' understudy.
