Vidmar's men conceded two goals while squandering several chances of their own, including a missed penalty from Lloyd Owusu.

"It's frustrating as hell to be honest because you look at that first 30 minutes and it was everything that we wanted, we created a number of chances and we just haven't got that ability at the moment to put the ball into the back of the net," said Vidmar.

"It hurts you, and what did they have - probably three or four shots on target for two goals, so they were a little bit more effective than us tonight.

"That's the way it is at the moment, we can't do much about it, we've just got to continue to keep working hard and try to get that right, and I think it has been the whole issue for most of the year, we're getting into the front third without a problem.

"We just don't have that luck and quality to put the ball into the back of the net."

Reflecting on the penalty that The Reds conceded, Vidmar added: "It was given and we have to cop it. We had the majority of that first half, so that was disappointing going into the break at 1-0 down, but I still thought we'd come out on top.

"They (the players) put in the effort, they absolutely put in the effort, they don't go out onto the park to play poorly but we're just missing that little bit of quality to put those goals away."
