ADELAIDE United boss Aurelio Vidmar has labelled his team mentally fragile with the call for character after three A-League games without a victory.
United coach Vidmar could not hide his disappointment after Friday night's 3-3 draw with North Queensland Fury, claiming his side has a lot of work in front of it to start being considered as a dangerous team.
Having led 2-1 at the interval - with Lloyd Owusu heading in the second for the Reds, the visitors fought back to lead 3-2.
It needed an injury time penalty from skipper for the night Lucas Pantelis to rescue a point for the home side.
Cristiano then wasted a glorious chance to win at the death but his header wide of the left post.
But rescuing the draw was not enough to paper over the cracks for the coach.
"We're very fragile at the moment, very fragile mentally," Vidmar admitted "It's not easy when you've lost a couple on the trot and we're certainly playing very jittery, we panic on the ball and after a couple of losses you probably lose a bit of confidence as well, and that's football so now we need to show some real character.
"We're going to have to get together and make sure we're committed. It's not going to be easy. We need to ask for a concentrated effort. That's what we asked for tonight and we got it, in patches."
